GEOinformatics – September 2010 – Main Theme at the Fringes

In essence, having more tan 14,000 attendees each year guarantees that every edition of Esri's User Conference turns out to be the main event in the GIS World. In San Diego this year, between July 10 and 16, the general feeling was that 'everybody's here'. Therefore, it seems significant when a longtime business partner isn't on the list for the plenary sessions, or fails to show up at the expo or present a project at the map gallery. It also works the other way round. The decidedly fun applications of a newcomer like CitySourced got huge exposure thanks for Jack Dangermond's decision to present them to his audience.
