Take the Guess Work Out of Agriculture

Data and analytics to boost yields and profits

Precision Agriculture
Software and Technology

Too often in agriculture, a one-size-fits-all approach of applying uniform amounts of water, fertilizers, and pesticides is standard procedure even though it isn’t reliably effective. Now Ag businesses can tailor crop management decisions by using modern Precision Agriculture Software and Technology – scientifically proven approaches that analyze remotely sensed data such as satellite and UAV imagery. Whether it’s data or analytics, NV5 Geospatial is your source to maximize yields and boost profits.

ENVI® Crop Science

Analytics for better crop management

NV5 Geospatial has a legacy of building cutting-edge analytics to solve a variety of industry problems. We've used that experience to create ENVI® Crop Science, which analyzes spectral and spatial data within imagery to provide extensive crop health information. The best part is, this product is designed to be used by anyone – regardless of prior experience with remote sensing. Let ENVI analytics power your Ag business!

Monitor crop growth and yield predictions

Tight profit margins are nothing new to growers. Fertilizers and crop protection chemicals can easily eat up half of the seasonal expenses for an agribusiness. On the other side of the equation, crop losses due to disease and pests can take a big bite out of yield. With a large portion of budgets tied up in fixed costs, remote sensing agriculture software and applications provide a way to loosen the margin squeeze.

Track changes over time and report results

Imagery from satellites, fixed-wing aircraft, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is being heralded as the next frontier in precision agriculture. In order to realize the potential that imagery offers, advanced analysis tools like ENVI need to be used to extract actionable information. ENVI Crop Science now puts the information available from these scientifically proven approaches into the hands of anyone, regardless of their prior experience with remote sensing.

ENVI® + Pix4D

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) are commonly employed across industries to quickly and cheaply capture high-resolution imagery. Information from that imagery is used to develop new applications, update GIS maps, and to make better business decisions. All of this has driven the need for a solution that can speed up the time between image capture and decision making.

From UAV Images to Answers

Pix4D and NV5 Geospatial have teamed together to integrate their leading software technologies, Pix4Dmapper and ENVI, to enable those using UAVs to go from images to answers. Here is the basic workflow:

  • Once UAV imagery is captured, use Pix4Dmapper, the leading photogrammetry software, to transform the images into accurate and georeferenced digital spatial models. Typical outputs that are created include 3D point clouds, 3D mesh, and orthomosaics.

  • These outputs can be easily moved to ENVI where they can be processed and analyzed to get answers. ENVI image processing and analysis is commonly used to extract features, detect anomalies, understand change over time, and much more.
