Geospatial Intelligence Forum – February 1, 2013 – Disaster GEOINT
The day before Hurricane Sandy’s center was forecast to make landfall in New Jersey, the radar on the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite observed the hurricane’s center. While Sandy was a marginal category 1 hurricane with a modest eyewall on the afternoon of Sunday, October 28, TRMM observed that properties of the eyewall indicated evidence of remarkable vigor.
