Internal: Installing the HASP driver on Windows with (GUI installer) hdd32.exe

(Formerly external TT 1706 5.5.09. Made internal because the installer hdd32.exe was not the latest installer and was causing problems on Windows XP. --jimu)
An incorrectly installed HASP device driver can produce license error messages. The HASP device driver is a piece a software that communicates between IDL/ENVI and the hardware key attached to the parellel port. If an IDL-based product prodices the error message "The license information you have entered is incorrect", the HASP driver may need to be re-installed.
(Note: HASP licensing is not available for IDL-only after IDL v5.5.)Discussion:
Download the latest HASP driver from the Aladdin website.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Windows NT/2000 users MUST be logged in with administrative privileges to complete the HASP device driver update procedure.
Installing the HASP driver:
- Decompress the HASP Device Driver installer with WInZip or PKUnzip in a convenient location.
- Double-click the hdd32.exe icon.
- Select 'Next'
- Select 'Next' again
- Select 'Finish'
- Once the installer has exited, reboot your system.
(The HASP driver installation process may appear to hang but it can take several minutes for the install to complete.)
When the Windows restarts, enter the license information as directed in the Licensing and Installation Guide for your IDL-based product. If the application still indicates that the license information is incorrect, please contact Technical Support at (303)413-3920, or by email at support@exelisvis.com
