INTERNAL: (Review) Tips for viewing VRML .wrl files created in ENVI

Anonym

ENVI has the capability to create VRML .wrl files showing both surfaces and textures. This Help Article presents some tips for viewing the VRML file created in ENVI.

Note: This functionality is present in versions of ENVI prior to ENVI 5.0 and in ENVI 5.0 Classic only.

There are a myriad of VRML viewers available and data displayed in one viewer can look markedly different than that displayed in other viewers. One VRML viewer that you may want to try is the Cortona VRML Client. Using this plugin, you can view your VRML file using Internet Explorer.

To open the VRML .wrl file, please follow these steps:

1. Start Internet Explorer.

2. Select File->Open File and select your .wrl file.

3. The Cortona Client will start and begin to display your .wrl file.

4. In the Cortona viewer window, click on the "Fit" button to bring the entire image into the display window.

5. Right-click in the viewer to bring up the context-menu. Select 'Headlight." This will add a light source to the surface.
