Error after licensing the product but IDL will not launch:
“Unable to license IDL. Reason:CLInitializeLicensing: Failed file open.”

Cause: Either permissions when installing or permissions on the license directory are not sufficient.

Error when attempting to activate a license server via the Harris License Administrator:
*************** Activate (server) ***************
Failed to activate XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX on server localhost
"detail" : "XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX",
"status" : "ACTIVATION_ID_COUNT_EXCEEDED"
---
Solution: This error occurs when the customer is trying to activate a quantity greater than that outlined by the entire Entitlement itself (not when just activating a code that pushes the total activated quantity over the contract limit). For example, this would happen if the customer is activating a code that is only a single-seat with a Quantity of 2.

CLL Error
Error Code: -1
Error Message: CLLActivateLicense: status - category: public, code:
14 (Activation ID copies exceeds available copies), details:
F009-C507-05A4-E9BB
--
Solution: This error occurs when the customer is trying to activate a quantity that would push the total activated quantity on that code above the amount outlined by the contract. For example, the customer has a single-seat license that has already been activated. If they attempt to activate the code again with QTY=1, this error will arrive. The customer either needs to deactivate the code on other machines, or request it be obsoleted if it is decommissioned.

Solution: This error seems to occur when a customer is attempting to activate a code that is no longer valid. Even though it may show as Active in FNO. This is a result of some changes to the MNT contract in CRM being pushed as an entirely new code to the customer. The work-around is to make sure the customer is using the most up-to-date code. Find this in the CRM Maintenance Contract Notes field, or direct the customer to find it on the Harris DLC.
