Use ENVI to Calculate Firefighter Safety Zones During Wildfires

On October 17, 2020, the Calwood Fire started near Boulder, Colorado, and quickly spread, burning thousands of acres. When firefighters fight blazes like this one, the challenge of ensuring their safety is a priority. In this video case study, Austin Coates shows how ENVI® can be used with remotely sensed data to calculate firefighter safety zones – areas where firefighters can seek refuge from an approaching fire without the need for a shelter.
