Hello, In the "Installation_and_licensing_Guide.pdf" there's an option explained that let's one create and options file (idl_lmgrd.opt) in order to manage license usage. There's an example using the 'reserve' keyword to reserve licenses to specific users or groups, but is it at all possible to reserve a particular number of licenses to certain machines no matter who the user is? And on top of that, can the access be time restricted? My scenario is that I want to reserve licenses for 60 computers (30 each in two labs) for a specific time each week (e.g. 8:30 to 10:30 every Friday) and any user can log on to the computer. Is this possible? If anyone can give me some tips or better yet write a sample idl_lmgrd.opt file that would be great. Thanks, Mike

Hello Mike, Unfortunately there is no way to incorporate time keywords in the options file. However, you can specify specific systems using the HOST keyword. I've included a link below to the FlexNet End User Guide which will provide more detail: http://www.minitab.com/up...g_end_user_guide.pdf An example of what you would include in the options file to restrict usage to particular systems would follow the syntax of: RESERVE (amount) (feature):KEY=(encryption key in license file) HOST (System IP address or Host Name) Or: RESERVE 6 idl:KEY=123456789123456789 HOST 123.45.67.8910 Hopefully that should provide you with some additional information, but if we can be of further assistance, please feel free to send an e-mail over to support@ittvis.com. Thanks! -Jared

Hi Jared, Thanks for the reply. Luckily, this is not a big issue at this point, so I'm good for now without the 'time functionality.' If things change in the future, I'll contact support. Mike
