Dear forum when I use quick statistic of a scene containing black borders; the minimum pixel values always 0 I know this is the value of the black border. My questions are: 1- How to calculate the statistics of the scene avoiding the black areas at the border? 2- How to calculate statistics for a region of interest (ROI)? All my best regards

You can do this through the Compute Statistics tool. In ENVI 5, search the toolbox for Compute Statistics. In ENVI Classic, it is under Basic Tools->Statistics. You can supply a mask of the background to exclude this area. You can also choose an ROI as input.
