I am trying to combine one image (7 bands) with other images over a given time period to look at the change in vegetation over time. I have combined 21 bands from 3 different images using the layer stacking tool, but I can't select three bands (or layers as they are now) to show as RGB like I could in one original image to emphasize different characteristics of the land. Is there a way to combine all bands from one image with bands from another image to create one final image containing all bands (which can be toggled on and off) from the included images?

You can create an RGB composite from any bands residing within the file. If you combined files into a single file using Layer Stacking then all bands added to the stack should be available to create an RGB composite. What version of ENVI are you using? Could you explain the steps you take where you are unable to create an RGB composite from a single file with multiple bands?
