Reading multi band BigTiff in ENVI 5.1 failing (OK in Classic)

I have a 1GB BigTiff GeoTiff file with 5 spectral bands but ENVI 5.1 fails to read in anything other than 1 band. The metadata in ENVI 5.1 indicates it has recognised 5 bands. I can read it in using ENVI Classic 23 bit successfully. Is there an issue with the reader or a subtlety in the format that suggest this file is slightly misconstructed? What's changed form Classic to 5.1? Regards Andy

If the Geotiff does not have associated wavelengths for each band, when you open the file in ENVI, only the first band will be automatically opened in the Layer Manager and display. If you look at the file in the Data Manager, do you see the other bands in the TIFF file? If so, you can load additional bands from here. BigTiff should be supported in ENVI 5.1 as well as Classic 5.1.
