Hi. I manage an installation of ENVI 5.4 and IDL 8.6 on a Linux cluster. The software is installed on six servers, while the license server is on a separate host. When I launch ENVI on the command line, the license is found ok and the splash screen appears, but then it hangs for a long time. Finally after roughly 50 minutes the splash screen goes away and the main GUI appears.

Couple other notes: IDL 8.6 starts up within a few seconds, as does ENVI Classic. Modern ENVI is the only thing that takes so long to start. And it was not just the first time, it takes that long every time.

Can you offer any insight as to what could be taking so long?
