Dear anyone..I have a USGS SRTM DEM data and the corresponding satellite image. their data dimensions are slightly different..is thee any way to sort of drape or combine these two images so that I can get to display glacier from my image into the DEM?

You can use ENVI's 3D surfaceview tool. Display your image, then go to Tools ->3D Surfaceview. Select the DEM and the parameters of how you want the image displayed. The tool will resample the image on the fly (for display only) so it is not necessary to resample the image or DEM data to match.
