Hello , I want to do georeference to MODIS data, but a headache bother me. First ,open the data, there are two ways to open MODIS 1B data(HDF) in ENVI software: 1. File -> open image file 2. File -> open external -> EOS -> MODIS I both have a try to do . Second step , I choose the menu of "map" ,then click on " georeference MODIS". I have choosen the "Geographic Lat/Lon" projection with bow-tie correction, then it did procession. but the coordinate of the mage resulted from first way is not same as the second way. when I did mosaic with the images resulted from second way, the marker on the edge of two image can't match well. why?

Hello Li Jiyuan, There is no difference opening a MODIS 1B file using File ->Open Image File or File ->Open External ->EOS->MODIS. Both options open the file in the exact same way. If I open the file in the first way and georeference it, then open it again in the second way and georeference it, my results are identical. Are you actually using two different MODIS datasets, which may or may not mosaic together perfectly? Another option you might consider is using the MODIS Toolkit available from the User Contribution site here: http://www.ittvis.com/cod...k/search.asp?FID=485 This provides support for many other MODIS formats as well as 1B.
