Hi there. I have a Quickbird panchromatic image, and I am using this to spatially subset a separate multispectral image, also from Quickbird. Both files seem to be georeferenced correctly, and the Geographic link works fine. But the link displays option is wrong for some reason. It associates coordinate 1,1 in the new image with coordinate 1720, 2400 (or something like that) in the original image, which I assume is normal--however the displays do not line up at all. I tried changing setting the pixel coordinates in both images to 1,1 as well, but still completely off. Not sure what I've done wrong here? The resolution of the panchromatic IS different from the multispectral--do I need to stack these two layers first, to get the same pixel size? Or am I missing something? Thanks-- Steve

If you are trying to do a regular 'Link Display' between two images that have different pixel resolutions, it won't work because the link is performed on the samples/lines of the image which must match. The x/y offsets are related back to the original image from which it was subset and you *can* use Link Display to link the subset image to its parent (is this not working?). But you won't be able to use Link Display to link the subset image to the pan image with a different spatial resolution. Here is where you use Geographic Link. If you resample the MS image to the Pan image through a layer stack, then the Link Display should work.
