some satellite data are released in HDF5 data format. how to support HDF5 in ENVI, or some plugin to read hdf5 data. I use the "KNMI HDF5 Data Reader Plug-in for ENVI 4.0" but I got an error. I encountered a problem while using KNMI HDF5 Data Reader Plug-in for ENVI 4.0 applied at http://www.creaso.com/eng...vihdf5/envihdf5.htm. It seems to be a Warning Dialog with info as below: The following error was encountered: Attempt to call undefined procedure/function: ‘CW_TREESTRUCTURE’. Please consult the supplier of the application.

MODIS is not distributed in HDF5, it is HDF4.  If you download the MODIS Toolkit from our User Contrib page, you will be able to read in this file. So far, there has not been many imagery datasets distributed in HDF 5.  You can use IDL's HDF5 routines to read the data in, then open the imported data in ENVI.

Thank you for mminari's reply. the problem is OK, I just start ENVI+IDL, there is no problem. if  I just start ENVI , there is the problem.

This is a known pathing problem.  Try running the software updates from IDLWorkbench (Help ->Software updates) and update to IDL 7.0.3.  This should fix the problem.  Alternately, you can add the ENVI43 path to your IDL Paths in the IDL Preferences (Preferences ->IDL->Paths).  Add the \itt\idl70\products\envi45 path then start ENVI and see if the problem is resolved when you try to open an HDF file.
