I have over 100 Landsat images that I am beginning to work with. Since all of the imagery available through Glovis is in GeoTIFF I find myself in a bit of a pickle. The calibration utility within ENVI is especially useful when it automatically enters the calibration values. NLAPS work well by entering all bands at once. When I calibrate GeoTIFF files it needs to be done one layer at a time then subequently stacked. Is there something that I am missing in the sense that I cannot process all layers at once? Or is one layer at a time the only way to go?
Thanks in advance for any advice,
jeff

Unfortunately, the Landsat calibration tool requires you process each geotiff one at a time (the way they are distributed). We have a feature request to be able to use the metadata file (MTL) to open and calibration landsat files. Hopefully this will be addressed in a future version of ENVI.

Yeah, that is what I figured. Thanks so much for the answer. Hopefully it will be addressed since the entire Landsat collection will be free and in this format.
Again, thanks.

Hi,
What would be great is an import feature where you could read in all the Landsat TM data and calibrate it with the MTL file at once and not have to go through the calibration and stacking functions separately.
In the meantime, does anyone have IDL code to automate the process?
Sincerely,
