I try to define my own datum for my works with Envi. But V4.3 and V4.5 give me different results. I add my own datum into ellipse.txt and datum.txt . Envi 4.3 failed in writing and reading the user defined datum into the Geotiff header, but  Envi 4.5 succeed.  Why? Who knows?

What datum was used?  In what way did it fail in ENVI 4.3?  If you save the file to ENVI format, does the datum get written?

If using Envi's own format, I can find the datum info in the .hdr file, but saving it as Geotiff, Envi 4.3 can not write and read the datum info into the refered Geotiff tags. But Envi 4.5 can. And the user defined datum adding into ellipse.txt and datum.txt .

If it is 'User Defined' then it was likely that it was not yet supported in 4.3.  They might have added support for this in 4.5.
