I am new to ENVI. I downloaded Landsat Geotiffs from glovis. I cannot get the header info to import.  First I opened an external file, Geotiff and imported bands 1-5, 7.  Then I saved them as a ENVI standard. When I do so the header information does not translate over. In the download I received a text file will all the header information. Is there a way to import all of this information without having to actually type it in?  I tried import from ascii and it will not read the txt file.  I am trying to calibrate and then atmospherically correct the images based on the directions in the FLAASH tutorial. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version of ENVI are you using?  ENVI 4.7 now supports Landsat geotiff data with metadata, so it reads the _mtl.txt file.  We also have a patch for ENVI 4.6.  You would need to contact ITT VIS technical support to obtain this.

Thank you very much for the quick response! Our University will not pay for the license maintenance renewal so I don't have 4.7, I am running 4.6.  I assume that will not be able to get the patch then?  Or is the patch "freeware"? If I cannot get the patch, does this mean I have to manually type all this information in?
