Assuming that the .img indicates that is an ERDAS IMAGINE file (that is the naming convention for that software), in ENVI you would go to: file/open_external_file/IP_software/erdas_imagine Of course, one can add a .img extension on any type of file, but I would try this first.  If that doesn't work, you would need to find out what format the .img file is in. -M
