Can anyone direct me to steps on how to run the NDVI calculation through a ENVI GUI?  I find batch code under the IDL post "how to calculate NDVI for tons of MODIS images using IDL", but i can not find the GUI instructions to run the NDVI calculation.  I have a LandSat 7 multispectral image.  I did find steps for ENVI 4.3 here http://www.docstoc.com/do...rocessing-with-ENVI, but they don't match 4.7.  I have access here at school to ENVI 4.7, ENVI EX, ENVI + IDL and ENVI Zoom.  Thanks Dan Kennedy

You can use Transform ->NDVI.  Select your ETM image for the input file and select the sensor type as 'TM'.  ETM and TM data both have band 3 as red and band 4 as NIR.  Alternately, you can always use Basic Tools ->Band Math to perform the NDVI equation.
