Dear community, I have installed ENVI on my 64-bit Win 7. Now, if I want to start ENVI (64 or 32 bit, in both cases without IDL) or ENVI Zoom the system gives me following error message: File not found or not a valid file: C:\Programme\ITT\IDL71\lib\hook\envi.sav (or rather ...\envizoom.sav) I have already tried to open the envi.sav file in the above shown folder manually. In the case of envi.sav it openes, but a click to envizoom.sav gives the following error message: The following error was encountered: Array dimensions must be greater than 0. Please consult the supplier of the application. Can you help me? What is the failure? Kind regards, Michael Wiesner

Hi Michael, It sounds like the file can't be found which may mean a permissions issue to that directory. I've had friends have similar problems. Win 7 has tighter security restrictions in place. I'm told there are a couple of levels of access even if you are an admin on the machine. Anyways, check Google to find out how to get full permissions (read, write, execute) to your folders. There are lots of articles. If that doesn't work you should get in touch with ITT tech support and see what they say. I've used them a few times and they're great. Make sure you let them know what version of Win 7 you have such as Home or Professional. I would also let them know how you are starting ENVI as there are several ways such as desktop icons and such. Maybe throw in a screen capture of the error. As cryptic as they are they may be able to figure out what they mean. Good luck! Ciao
