Dear all
I'm searching for a function that allow me to calculate an image containing the Minimum and (separately) Maximum from a multiband image.
What I need is to obtain an image where for each pixel correspond the Minimum DN of the vertical pixels of stacked layers composing an image. The same for the Maximum.
In the menu Basic Tools > Statistics > Sum Data Bands are available different interesting outputs but not the Min & Max .
Someone can help me? Any solution using the Band Math?

I have exactly the same need...have you gotten any insight on how to perform this analysis?
It seems like a logical option that should be available under "Sum Data Bands", but I've never found a way to accomlish this calculation in ENVI.

Unfortunately no, but I've found a turn-around using ArcGIS and the Spatial Analyst tool function available in ArcToolBox: Spatial Analyst Tool > Local > Cell Statistics.
Clearly I'm searching for a function ready available (soon? I hope) in ENVI, and if there are some skilled users of this software any help and suggestion will be really welcome.

There is a new user function in the Code library called 'maximum/minimum value image' which might help.

The function is called max_min_value.sav but it, along with many other great plugins are no longer visible on the ENVI site. Seems since they updated the website many are missing. Not sure if this intentional or just not important enough to fix. I have a copy that I downloaded awhile back that works fine in ENVI 5 SP2 and SP3 and most prior versions. If you want to send me an email I can pass it along. Once you place it in the Save_Add folder it will be available under Basic Tools | Statistics.
