Hi, I have ENVI 4.8 and i complied some functions in IDL. I would like to use my complied IDL functions for band math in ENVI 4.8. In the manual they have given that I should save the complied function in IDL as .sav file. And I should put that .sav file in Save_Add directory in ENVI. When i open the ENVI and went to band math to add that function, but its not there. I complied my function in IDL, but i am not able to locate this complied file. Is this the correct way or not. Thanks guys

I'm not sure that I follow everything that you've done. What you want to do is create a *.sav file containing your IDL function, using the IDL SAVE routine. You then place that .sav file in ENVI's save_add directory. When you start up a new ENVI session, that function should then be compiled. Then you should be able to use it in a Band Math expression. - Peg
