Hi, I am a basic user of ENVI so apologies for the potentially basic question. I have a shape file that denotes regions (local governments), each of which as an associated name. I want to specify, for each region, the list of those regions bordering it. Is this possible in ENVI? With best wishes, Dan

Hi Dan, I am afraid that ENVI does not provide that functionality. This is the type of thing that you might want to go to ArcGIS or another full GIS software package for. Sorry I don't have better news for you. Peg

Dear Peg, Thank you very much for letting me know. I have since found a few options, which I write here in case it is useful for others: 1) Technical support pointed me towards http://forums.arcgis.com/...list-of-polygons-wit h-their-topological-neighbors 2) ArcGIS resource centre: http://resources.arcgis.c...18-884B-A053393CEF92 3) Which led me to: http://forums.esri.com/Th...c=93&f=1742&t=192651 I'm still exploring how to implement these (as I said, I'm a basic user) but I hope they are useful to any one else. Thank you again for your reply. With best wishes, Dan
