I have a interpolated raster in Arcmap that I want to clip to a landsat.hdf file and then bring the clipped file into ENVI so i can run some processes.. I tried reprojecting the arcmap raster so that its the same as the landsat.hdf file in Arc but the landsat is smaller than the Arc raster but in reality it is not. ENVI says the Landsat hdf is UTM 15N WGS1984 but Arc says its undefined. What is the best way to go about this? I'm using Arcmap 10 and ENVI 4.8 Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks!

My guess is that ArcGIS cannot read the map information from an HDF file. Why not subset the data in ENVI? You can use Basic Tools ->Resize Data. In the file selection dialog, select Spatial Subset and select 'File' to choose your HDF file as the basis for the subset of your 'interpolated raster'. ArcGIS 10 can export your raster to ENVI format, so it should be easy to bring both datasets into ENVI.

I tried that but my hdf has multiple bands... which one do i select? Or does it matter?

Multiple bands in the same file should have the same dimensions (samples and lines) but sometimes HDF has multiple files in the HDF so select the file that has the extents you want to clip the raster to. It may not matter though. If, for example, you have an ASTER HDF file, there are multiple files in the HDF and they have different pixel sizes, but they cover the same geographic extents, so any of them should work.

Sorry but one last question... If i set the projection in Arcmap for my raster, an i save it as ENVI, do i need to reproject it in ENVI? I want it the same projection in ENVI because I have to clip it to hdf file.. Sorry i'm asking too much here, i'm using ENVI for the first time kind of.

You shouldn't need to reproject it. ENVI and Arc use the same map projection code and Arc should be able to write out an appropriate ENVI header file with projection strings.
