You can still download ENVI 4.8 by going to the Downloads ->Download Products->ENVI and select the check box for 'Show Previous Versions'. However, you might still use ENVI 5.0 Classic, which comes with the new ENVI 5. This can be found under ENVI 5.0->Tools. It should look and work pretty much like ENVI 4.8.

I an new to ENVI and will be working with someone who still uses version 4.8 and requests I download that as well as 5.0. I'm having trouble finding the 4.8 download. I noticed this threat but it is a bit dated. Following the instructions given I'm not able to find the 4.8 link (I don't have a "show previous versions" on my screen). Could you please point me in the right direction? Thank you.

ENVI 5.x is also distributed with ENVI Classic if you prefer the older interface. It does not have all the updated functionality and data support that is in ENVI 5.x but will look familiar to you if you prefer to use ENVI 4.8.
