    Is there a way to change the ENVI 5 default preferences for all users? In 4.x and Classic I can change the envi.cfg file so any user opening ENVI will, by default, have their input and output directories pointing to the server rather than the local C: drive. Students can be instructed to set preferences, but each time they sit at a different PC they will NOT remember to change the preferences.

    Very good question. I'd be curious too! There's the folder C:\Users\username\.idl\envi\preferences5_0-36-win32-m64 where the preferences are stored but they now seem to be in a sav file. I hope there's a good solution to that.
