Hello, I am trying to define a projection for an image that has an arbitrary projection (pixel based). I have read from some forums that arbitrary projection means that it doesn't have any projection at all. I have tried "Convert Map Projection" but it doesnt work as it dont have an initial projection to convert it from. I have also read that layerstaking will not work. I still tried to put on top of the list the projection I want to copy in layer stacking, and yes it didn't work. In ArcGIS, there is a way to define a projection if it doesnt have any. Is there a similar tool in ENVI to do that? Can you help me please, I am still new to using ENVI. Kind regards, Joie

If the file has no projection, then you first need to assign a projection. You can do this under FIle ->Edit ENVI Header->Edit Attributes ->Map Info. Here you can set an 'arbitrary' projection. It can be pixel or map based which is described in this help article: http://www.exelisvis.com/.../ArticleId/3764.aspx
