Hi I am trying to stack the layers of a Landsat scene. The original data is in a .fst format, and opens as two separate layers - one with bands 1 to 5 and band 7, and the other with only band 6. I need to stack it in the correct order - obviously if I just stack those two layers, the band order is 1,2,3,4,5,7,6 - this gives problems with my later processing steps. Is there some way to either split the bands of the first layer and then re-stack them, or to re-order the bands of an already stacked image? Thank you

Hi. It is not a piece of elegance, but you can make a spectral subset when importing layers in the layer stack. You can import the first layer with only bands 1-5 (by clicking on spectral subset), then you can import band 6 from the second layer, finally you can re-import the first layer with only band 7 (again with spectral subset).

Although, you might want to double check that that is really what you want to do. Landsat band 6 is a thermal band, with different spatial resolution. So, if you arrange the bands in order of wavelengths, they actually do go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 6. Usually people work with Landsat bands 1-5 and 7, *or* band 6. It's unusual to work with them all together, especially arranged in order of band number instead of wavelength. - Peg Exelis VIS
