    Hi experts, every time I try to open landsat-7 ETM+ data like this: File>open external file>Landsat>geotiff with metadata The scene bands appear in the available band list, but when trying opening any band I recieve the following error message along with a black image display: ENVI Retrieve Data: An error has occurred during processing Error:"Point_LUN: variable is undefined unit." the result     Do these bands exist (with these names) in the same directory as the _mtl.txt (metadata) file you opened? BAND1_FILE_NAME = "p172r045_7dt19991012_z36_10.tif" BAND2_FILE_NAME = "p172r045_7dt19991012_z36_20.tif" BAND3_FILE_NAME = "p172r045_7dt19991012_z36_30.tif" BAND4_FILE_NAME = "p172r045_7dt19991012_z36_40.tif" BAND5_FILE_NAME = "p172r045_7dt19991012_z36_50.tif" BAND61_FILE_NAME = "p172r045_7dk19991012_z36_61.tif" BAND62_FILE_NAME = "p172r045_7dk19991012_z36_62.tif" BAND7_FILE_NAME = "p172r045_7dt19991012_z36_70.tif" BAND8_FILE_NAME = "p172r045_7dp19991012_z36_80.tif" It sounds like ENVI is trying to display the bands specified in the metadata but it cannot find them.

    You are the best I found that file names have been changed; and I rename them using the MTL file names Now every thing works well Thank you very much

    I'm having the same error, but in reviewing my file names in the directory they all appear to match. Any other ideas what could cause this problem.
