Hello all, I'm stick in processing. I have CASI mosaic aprox. 4 GB big, 1m spatial res, 7.2 spec. res., 48 band image. I want to mask out non tree area from this mosaic. I know how to do that. But then became the last step ENVI can't handle it. So, first i performed band math and got one band result. Then used value range to build the mask for forest area. Then i classified mask to sieve and clump my mask. Then i made vector from mask class. And at the end if i want to make a mask based on vector file or subset image based on vector file ENVI can't handle this action! Please help me, i lost one day on it! Sincerely, Skywalker.

Can you explain what you mean by 'ENVI can't handle it'? Do you get an error message? What tool are you using when you get the error?

Dear MariM, If you red carefully my situation you shouldn't ask what tool i used. I used "Build Mask" tool based on vector (polygon) or for another option i tried to use "Subset Data via ROIs". "ENVI can't handle it" means that process runs but never ends. Of course, it is ok if process get not respond for one or two or tree hours and then end the process. But whole day 0 % process done, it is not normal. So i call it can't handle. Sorry no error message from ENVI! Jevgenijs

I asked because the tools in ENVI 5 and ENVI Classic are different. It sounds like you are using ENVI Classic or an older version of ENVI. Subsetting with a vector is a common function so it must be something specific with your vector file that is causing ENVI to hang. You might want to contact Technical Support directly about it.
