I can't seem to find anything in the ENVI 5.0 help files on how to open or calibrate Landsat 8 OLI bands. What are the equivalent commands to ENVI_OPEN_DATA_FILE and TMCAL_DOIT?

You should be able to use the ENVI::OpenRaster method to open OLI data but there currently is not a routine for calibration. This should come in the near future using the new Radiometric Calibration tool in ENVI 5.

Will the tool be callable from IDL?

Yes, it will be like other batch routines such as TM_CAL_DOIT but it will work for any of the supported data for the Radiometric Calibration tool.

So what does ENVI 5.0 call when I run the Radiometric Calibration tool? That converts Landsat 8 to TOA reflectance or radiance just fine. The procedure exists- could it just be undocumented in the Help File?
