Hello, Could anyone assist me with the use of Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM). I have been trying to use it to identify minerals in a certain area. The software is relatively new to me and i am having trouble applying this method of classification. I have an ASTER image and ASCII data. I was thinking maybe it is the data I have! but just in case, if anyone could help me with the application, I would really appreciate it.

In order to familiarize yourself with SAM you may want to review some of the tutorials found here: http://www.exelisvis.com/...urces/Tutorials.aspx Classification, Advanced Hyperspectral Analysis, and Basic Hyperspectral Analysis would be of interest.

Thank You. The problem is that my endmember is calibrated incorrectly or your scene is calibrated incorrectly; i.e. there is inconsistency in my data. How do I convert the image such that the SAM reads it in reflectance and not dn values?

Most imagery requires calibration to reflectance. This involves using the Radiometric Calibration tool and then perhaps an atmospheric correction (using FLAASH, Quac, Empirial line Calibration, etc). It depends on the data and sensor how it should be done.
