I am in search of method to fill in SLC-off gaps in Landsat ETM+ data. I have read previous posts but it is still not clear whether or not this is currently possible using ENVI. I have seen mention of a method using ENVI called "single file gap fill triangulation" but I am unable to find the tool to complete this. I am new to ENVI and have access to ENVI v5.0. Is this tool/method available in v5.0 and are there any resources or documentation for this method?

If you want to triangulate across the 0-values in a Landsat scene you can use the "Replace Bad Values" tool. You can search for this in the toolbox. It was originally developed to fill in bad DEM values but the triangulation can occur on any image. This is what the Landsat Gap fill tool uses for a single Landsat scene. Unfortunately, it is not currently available on our Code Library and it is not part of standard ENVI product.
