Dear Moderator!! Last night, i was working on radiance calibration of landsat8 OLI to run the FLASH module. But in new interface of envi 5.0. sp3 (32 bit), the radiance calibration module converted landsat8 image into flash format (BIL) of radiance with scale factor (SF) of 0.1. I put this file into Flash and choose the same scale factor of 0.1 but earlier with landsat 5 and 7, we put the SF value of 10. which SF one can use for landsat8?? I used lfilter function ldcm_oli.sli located in the \envi50\classic\filt_func directory. Further, the flash calibrated bands (1-4) are only showing the reflectance values in spectral profile and some water pixel is showing negative values. what should i do?. I already installed landsat8 oli hot fix. I also applied quick atmospheric correction on the same file. The spectral profile is showing values in all bands (1-7). Please try to solve this mystery. Thanx in advance!!

The scale factor to use in FLAASH is still 10 for Landsat 8 data. This is the value that is divided into the data set to get to microW/(cm^2*sr*nm). So this should help your results. However, negative values are not uncommon in areas of water or shadow because those areas return very low radiance and do not model well in FLAASH. You might try using the 'over water' option for the K-T bands for aerosol correction or turn off aerosol correction and set the initial visibility to around 100km.

Hello MariM! thank you for the quick response. I again performed FLASH module on the radiance file following your suggestions. But results are same. Spectral profiler is showing spectral curves for only 1-4 bands. :-(

I am not sure as I have not seen this behavior before. You may need to contact technical support directly about this issue.
