Hi I have two raster datasets one is Shaded relief DEM and another is high resolution optical imagery. The shaded relief is bigger in spatial extent than imagery. I want to make extent of both imagery exactly same, hence I would like to clip that. Here the most important thing is that the optical imagery is not square. It exists according to the outline of my study area. For this I went into "Resize data" and selected Shaded relief DEM and selected "Spatial subset". After this I selected "File" and then selected high resolution imagery to make the extent of both the datasets similar. The resultant imagery is clipped as "square" and not exactly the same as my optical imagery (which is shaped according my study area). How can I make it exactly similar to my study area (not square or rectangle) ? Regards Yask

I wondered if you tried using the Layer Stacking tool: it will create a new multiband file from images of various pixel sizes, extents, and projections. The input bands will be resampled and re-projected to a common user-selected output projection and pixel size. I have the impression it could perhaps meet your needs.

Yes, but with this the smaller imagery will result into blackground and the bigger imagery will stay as it is. I think its not useful to clip the feature with exactly same extent if one raster has a non-square shape. Layer staking is very useful to make pixel size similar and similar extent if both raster datasets are square or rectangle. In Arcmap when we clip the feature using shapefile, there is an option "use input geometry for clipping geometry" Is it possible to clip in a similar way in ENVI?
