Hi Whats the best method of doing mosaic in ENVI? I have more than 5 SPOT images and I am trying to do mosaicing of the image; I see following problems 1) color balancing: it does not show proper color match with the ideal image. I tried to put the ideal image as "fixed" and others as "adjust" but does not help 2) I see image borders: When I mosaic images, I distinctly see borders. I tried to follow the help topic and put the feathering distance to 25 but still no help. Most possibly, I see this due to the improper color balancing. I tried to follow ENVI turotial but that really does not help at all. please advise.

Color balancing is a gain/bias calculation so it is completely dependent on the statistics of the data. If the data have extreme values, it can be difficult to match them well. Have you tried both the overlapping and full scene statistics options? It can also help to use a cutline if there is a lot of overlap and then feathering. You can also play with images on top/bottom.
