Hi everyone I was working with ENVI doing both maximum and minimum classifications and I need to do an accuracy assessment on my imagery. The thing is I have no ground truths, can I get around this by taking the original image and making my own ground truths using the ROI tool and creating points? Are there any other methods in doing this? Any help with this situation will be greatly appreciated. If you can help could you please be specific as we just started using ENVI this semester and even the teacher is not up to speed.

You certainly could create your own "truth" ROI, and use it with ENVI's confusion matrix tool, for example. The question is whether your "truth" is really true in that case. How well do you think you can identify the true classes for your pixels, by hand? Usually people can't do this well enough to make it worth using in an accuracy assessment. - Peg Exelis VIS Tech Support
