Hi there,
I am working on classification of plant species from hyperspectral imagery. I have found support vector machine (SVM) classification to be very efficient in this task. However the problem is that there is no possibility to select a Mask band in the Classification input file window. For example Spectral angle mapper has this possibility in the same window. Is there any way to use a mask band with SVM classification in ENVI?
Additionally there is some confusion the Exelis documentary about SVM classifications probability threshold function. In this first help page (
http://www.exelisvis.com/.../BackgroundSVM.html) it is stated that:
"Use the Threshold slider to indicate your level of confidence that the closest segments of any given segment (in the segmentation image) represent the same class as that segment.
This page (
http://www.exelisvis.com/...tVectorMachine.html) however states that:
"Use the Classification Probability Threshold field to set the probability that is required for the SVM classifier to classify a pixel. Pixels where all rule probabilities are less than this threshold are unclassified"
So to my understanding it is only related to the latter. But I would need to have certain information about this. Is there a reliable source for reading more about the threshold parameter?
Kind regards,
