Hello I need to save a full fusioned and orthorectified SPOT-6 16 bit-image with the optimized linear stretch applied without loss of radiometric or spatial resolution. I looked up the ENVI 5.1 help and I found a way using "chip view to" but there was loss in the resulting image. I also tried to export using the "Save as" from the Image window of ENVI Classic but I could not find the Optimized Linear Stretch available. Can anyone help me? Orlando

Hi Orlando, It is a little difficult to follow what you are trying to accomplish. If you want to have any contrast stretch, including optimized linear, applied to the data, then you will, by definition, be changing the radiometric resolution of the data. The point of applying contrast stretches is to convert the raw pixel values to fit the possible screen values (0 to 255 in three color guns: red, green, and blue). So, it is not clear what exactly you want to end up with here. Do you want the pixel values to match the screen values that you see when you display the image using the optimized linear stretch? Or do you want to perhaps stretch your original pixel values into a different range of values, using something akin to the optimized linear stretch, but resulting in a range of pixel values that goes beyond 0 to 255? - Peg Exelis VIS

Hi Peg I am sorry if I was not clear enough... Your second option is what I want. Regards

It sounds like you will want to try ENVI's Stretch Data tool. You can find it in the ENVI Toolbox. - Peg Exelis VIS
