I created a seamless mosaic of two Landsat 4 scenes and another mosaic of two Landsat 8 scenes. I originally exported both mosaics in ENVI format. When I later saved the Landsat 4 to a GeoTiff if behaved as expected, and output a multiband GeoTiff with the same appearance as the mosaic. When I attempt this with the Landsat 8 mosaic it always outputs a panchromatic GeoTiff. Is there something I am missing or a difference between the sensors where you cannot save Landsat 8 mosaics to GeoTiff, if you have already saved it as ENVI first? Running: - Windows 8.1 - ENVI 5.2

Update: after checking in an external program it appears that both mosaics are correctly exported as GeoTIFFs. However, when the second was added back to the display in ENVI it is only shown as having one band. It opens correctly in ArcGIS, for example.

Dan - can you look at the file in the Data Manager to see if all the bands are present? When you save to a GeoTIFF, you no longer have wavelengths associated with the file so ENVI does not automatically load an RGB into the display. It will just load the first band in the file. But all bands should still be present when you export to GeoTIFF.

Hi Mari, after looking again it appears that all bands are there. I just can't load automatically load as a RGB in ENVI. I was exporting to GeoTIFF for compatibility with third-party programs so for those purposes it will still work. Is there a way to retain/re-associate the wavelengths with the GeoTIFF though so that it can be used in both ENVI and other programs?
