When one computes statistics for Pricipal components Analysis, the matrix that appears for the eigen vectors has for column and row headings the name Band 1 band 2 etc up to the number of bands and components. Since both rows and columns headings are 'bands', which of the two (rows or columns) are the Principal components then? Is it as traditionally written the columns or has ENVI got a different arrangement? I want to compute the loadings for each band and I need to know whether the rows or the columns represent the PCs.
