    Hi,

I've new installed ENVI 5.4.1. on Windows 10 x64 Education (Build 15063). After install ENVI starts and works fine; but in next runs it does not start! In splash screen it give warning: M"Expression must be a scalar or 1 element array ... : <BYTE Array[2]>" Here is the screenshot:

I've uninstalled and removed all files left behind ENVI install and clear registry. Then installed the ENVI again; but nothing changed!

I need your help / advise.

    Hasan.

Try moving or deleting the .idl directory from your home directory. For example, on Windows:

    C:\users\<username>\.idl

This directory contains all the configurations for IDL and ENVI, as well as any extensions you may have added. It can sometimes have a corrupted or incompatible file.

Thank you. Yes, deleting .idl folder solved the problem. The only problematic file is "envifavorites.xml" in preferences5_4 folder, for my cases. Deleting only this file solves the problem.

But it's needed to delete this file for each run of ENVI. I tried to make the "envifavorites.xml" as read-only. Delete it, etc. After many attempts I SOLVE the problem.
