Hello! For many issues we need to perform numerous correction to images, for some of them ENVI need the original metadata of the files, but this metadata is lost when you process. A simply 2 pre-processing are for example: Orthorectification and Radiometric Calibration.

When you orthorectify you can't use Radiometric Calibration Tool
When you calibrate you can't use orthorectification tool (RPC less)

So I othorectify the image, then I import metadata (Gain and Offset, Sensor, Solar issues) from original data, and then I can use Radiometric Calibration tool, I'm soing this well, the tool now work with the orthorectify data, but was nice if you can confirm that I'm doing well.

    best regards
    Jose Manuel

What version of ENVI are you using? This metadata should be passed on with both ortho and with Radiometric correction. I typically would do RC first.
