The SPECPR files available with USGS spectra files are readable using the plugins which are tested with envi. specially envi 4.5 and 4.8. how ever is it possible to convert the full spectrum of specpr file in to a spectral library format in envi? when converting the SPECPR file in to ascii format and generating the spectral library it is giving an error message of not containing the full spectra of the SPECPR file. I used envi 4.5 and i used a plugin type function compatible with ENVI which facilitate opening SPECPR files and analyzing its nature. But only possibility of exporting is ascii format which doesn't convert the full spectra or details in the original file.

Can you post the exact error message you receive? I would convert the SPECPR data to ascii, which is expected to be in columns, with wavelengths as the first column and spectral response per band in the subsequent columns. The columns should have the same number of samples (rows).

problem:The input spectrum doesnot contain the same number of bands as the target and no resampling can be done without wavelengths

The error message for me is,

Problem: The input spectrum does not contain the same number of bands as the target and no resampling can be done without wavelengths.

I am using ENVI 4.5 and the plugin available with it for viewing SPECPR files. every time i convert the SPECPR file record in to an ascii file it is not giving the full details again in viewing back.

I am not familiar with the plugin. What does the ascii file look like? Is the first column the wavelengths? If it does not export the wavelengths, you would need to add this column and enter the wavelength values for each spectral band.
