    Hello,

I have used the Dem extraction wizard for an Ikonos stereo pair images and I have found out after importing the tif file to Arcgmap that It takes into account the background value in the elevation scale. The value is -999 and I want to know if I can extract the dem without the background values.

A raster is always rectangular, so if you area of interest is not an exact rectangle or square, you will always have 'background' pixels. Typically these can be set to be transparent in the software. In ENVI, we use the 'data ignore value' in the image .hdr file. I believe you can also set the value of -9999 to transparent in Arc as well.
