How to check if IDL DataMiner is installed?

The IDL DataMiner is an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) interface that allows IDL users to access and manipulate information from a variety of database management systems.

During the installation of IDL, it is possible to additionally install IDL DataMiner on the machine. However, this must be selected explicitly.

If you are not sure if IDL DataMiner is installed on your machine, you can check the following:

1) If IDL DataMiner is installed on the machine, additional folders and files are added to the IDL directory:
Windows:
C:\Program Files\Harris\ENVI56\IDL88\bin\bin.x86_64\dm
C:\Program Files\Harris\ENVI56\IDL88\bin\bin.x86\dm
Linux:

/usr/local/harris/envi56/idl88/bin/bin.linux.x86_64/dm

If these folders are not present, it indicates that IDL DataMiner is not installed.

2) On Windows machines, you can also check the installed drivers:
Open the Windows App „ODBC Data Source Administrator (64 bit)“.
Move to the “Drivers” tab.
If IDL DataMiner is installed, additional “DataDirect Drivers” appear in the drivers list.
The driver version depends on the installed IDL version.
