Sales Engineer (Tokyo, Japan)

We are seeking a Sales Engineer responsible for North Asia, with primary focus on the Japanese market.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and deliver technical tools, documentation, demos, presentations, and product training related to Exelis VIS products.
• Support the use of Exelis VIS products in a variety of industries by presenting and demonstrating to technical forums and various industry events.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current technology, industry applications, other products, and product usage trends to communicate relevant issues and develop technical responses for the company’s sales and marketing teams.
• Serve as a technical reference for inter-department communications and messaging.
• Provide channel partners, customers and sales representatives with technical product advice and support during pre-sale discussions.
• Propose, design, and develop the best product-based solution for our customers’ needs.

What We’re Looking For:

• Japanese citizenship.
• Native Japanese speaker.
• Business-level communication skills in English.
• Bachelor's degree. (Experience or degree in Remote Sensing preferred.)
• Industry experience in software development, technical customer support and project management.
• Experience with pre-sales, technical support, and training activities.
• Understanding of computer programming.
• Good understanding of geospatial markets, GIS, remote sensing, SAR, scientific data analysis, visualization, and related solutions (well enough to sell Exelis VIS products).

Helpful Skills and Qualifications:

• Good understanding of ENVI/IDL or similar Image Processing software and development environments.
