Technical Support Engineer, Gilching, Germany (Temporary)

We have an entry-level technical support position available in our German office to support our European customers.  The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for providing quality technical support to customers.  This involves analyzing, troubleshooting, and testing software to solve technical problems and answer questions regarding installation, licensing, products, and our website.

 

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Fluency in German and English is a must – other languages (specifically French and Italian) a plus.
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in geo-informatics, computer science or related field.
  • Experience in Windows, Linux, or Mac environment.
  • Experience with remote sensing, image processing, GIS, and geospatial imagery. Knowledge and/or experience with ENVI recommended.
  • Knowledge and experience with IDL, C, C++, or Java programming recommended.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to receive and comprehend detailed information by phone for extended periods of time in order to troubleshoot customer issues.
  • Ability to review technical documentation.
  • Ability to consistently perform in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills is a must.
